Camp Shakespeare at Winedale

We are writing to request funding from FCF in the amount of $5,800 to make possible our 2025 Camp Shakespeare performances at the La Grange Performing Arts Center and to support two full scholarships for local students.
We are writing to request funding from the Fayette Community Foundation in the amount of $5,800 to make possible our 2025 Camp Shakespeare public performances at the La Grange ISD Performing Arts Center on June 21, 2025 and July 12, 2025 ($2,000) and to support two full scholarships for local area students ($3,800). The support we received last year from FCF made it possible for us to raise awareness around our programming within the local community. We are thrilled to announce that seven local LGISD students will be attending Camp Shakespeare this summer! We know that this is due in large part to your continued support. Since its inception in 2000, Camp Shakespeare has been both a lively and creative force in transforming young lives and a cherished experience for audiences from Fayette County and beyond. As well, we have been blessed to have eleven students from the La Grange schools participate as Campers and Counselors over the years. And so, in many ways, the rural countryside has been a special place for Shakespeare. We have been fortunate in developing a faithful and generous constituency that has made these 25 years possible. However, costs of food, supplies, gasoline, and use of the Campsite have risen so we are approaching the summer with a keen eye on the budget. The other performance venues (Theater Barn at Winedale, The Crystal Theater in Gonzales) we use without cost. The LGISD operational and usage costs are well-justified ($2,000). However, we need your support to cover those costs. We have also received a record number of scholarship requests this summer. Out of the twenty-nine campers, twelve of them will need full scholarships to participate. Out of those twelve scholarship students, five are from Fayette County. We very much appreciate your consideration of this request to provide two full scholarships ($3,800) for local area participants.

Your advertising will not only promote the foundation but also help continue Habitat for Humanity's mission of providing affordable housing to families in need in Fayette County.
I'm reaching out to offer the Greater Fayette Community Foundation a unique opportunity to increase its community presence while supporting a cause that makes a meaningful impact. Fayette County Habitat for Humanity is acquiring a new ReStore box truck, and we would like to invite your organization to advertise on the rear or side panels of the truck for a four-year period. The total cost for this advertising opportunity is $10,800 for the four year period, which breaks down to an affordable rate of $225 per month. We also offer the option of making annual payments of $2,700 over the four-year period. Key benefits of this opportunity include: - High visibility: The truck will travel at least 60 miles per month and 5,000 miles annually, allowing your brand to be seen throughout the county and beyond. Whether we are collecting donations, delivering building materials, or participating in community events, your advertisement will have wide exposure. - Prime parking location: When the truck is not in use, it will be parked in front of our Habitat ReStore in Schulenburg, which has an average daily traffic rate of 193 vehicles passing the store. This ensures that your ad will be seen regularly by local residents and visitors alike. - Social media presence: In addition to on-the-road exposure, we will share photos of our donation pickups, donation drives and events on social media platforms, with the truck and your organization’s logo prominently displayed. This gives your foundation additional visibility across our digital channels. - Support a powerful mission: Your advertising investment will not only promote your foundation but also help continue Habitat for Humanity’s mission of providing affordable housing to families in need in Fayette County. Your contribution will directly support our ongoing work to build homes and create opportunities for local families. Additionally, I’ve enclosed a list of scheduled donation drive locations for the coming year, along with traffic estimates as well as a mock-up of how your logo could appear on our truck. This advertising opportunity offers a great way to enhance your community visibility while making a tangible difference in the lives of local families. We would love to discuss this with you further and answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact me at ExecDir@FayetteCountyHabitat.org or 979-561-7211 at your convenience. Thank you for considering this partnership. We look forward to the possibility of working together to make another positive impact in Fayette County.

Festival Hill Gardens & Grounds is currently raising funds to renovate a greenhouse for educational programs, workshops, and preservation of the gardens.
Festival Hill Gardens & Grounds is a volunteer service program that is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of Round Top Festival Institute's 160 acre campus. Our current focus is to fundraise $30,000 to help renovate a greenhouse structure that will be used to engage volunteer support in educational programs, workshops, cultivation, and preservation of the public gardens at Round Top Festival Institute. For the past two years Festival Hill Gardens & Grounds has engaged over 100 volunteers with projects aimed at beautifying the campus, restoring herbal gardens, and clearing walking trails. With the support of FHG&G, we have had a dozen volunteer service days, maintaining various areas around campus to beautify the natural landscaping, preserve natural habitats and themed herbal gardens, and reestablish walking paths as well as generate funding for a developing bird trail expected to be completed in 2025. This group has not only brought forth local volunteer support, but has also been supported by many local businesses and professionals within our community to restore and rejuvenate the campus known fondly as Festival Hill. Our current mission is to raise $30,000 to renovate and improve the greenhouse structure on campus. This structure was originally constructed in the late 1980s in order to house a collection of rare plants from around the world belonging to renowned herbalist, Madalene Hill, it was used by the local unit of the Herb Society of America for educational outreach, workshops, plant propagation, and to sustain the gardens at Festival Hill. With time and due to past winter storms this structure has fallen into disrepair. A full inventory of the structure and its components have already been evaluated, new plumbing, electrical, heating, venting, glazing, and entrance walls are proposed to be constructed. The current frame and footing of the structure are stable and will be reused. We have had some local support of the project, by individuals and units of the Herb Society of America. The restoration of the greenhouse will expand our year-round horticultural programming including education of propagation techniques, space for hands-on workshops, and allow winter protection of the rare plant species in our Pharmacy Garden, which showcases medicinal herbs from around the world. As we work towards sustainable gardening and native plant conservation, these efforts will help to increase the biodiversity in this region of plant, insect, bird, and other wildlife species. We are seeking $5000 in funding to support our current fundraising efforts to purchase supplies and attain a contractor to complete this mission. Your generous contribution will directly impact volunteers, visitors to the Round Top Festival Institute, and the public, helping us to foster environmental stewardship and public engagement with this historic site in Fayette County.

The La Grange High School Science Department classrooms, laboratory equipment and laboratory stations, plumbing and electrical in the classrooms all need to be updated. One of the classrooms does not have water in the room.
La Grange High School Science Department Facilities Improvements Proposal The classrooms, laboratory equipment, lab height tables and stools, plumbing, sinks, water, storage, vent hoods for ventilation, drying rack, flooring and electrical systems within the La Grange High School Science Department require repairs, replacements, and upgrades to adequately support the needs of both instructors and students. This is essential for maintaining a high standard of instruction for all students. We have five labs and one repurposed science classroom. The classroom lacks running water, making it difficult to conduct essential laboratory activities. Both students and instructors is important in creating an effective learning environment and necessary classroom equipment for activities. Science is an expensive class where it is our responsibility to explain facts and concepts while giving our students hands on experience of understanding how scientific knowledge was developed. Skills needed to work in a lab and are taught through science of asking why something happened and how to find the answer. Engaging students in science is the mission of teachers. Integrated Physics and Chemistry known as (IPC), and Environmental Science students explore both physics and chemistry, including matter, motion. energy, chemical reactions and the periodic table. The class focuses on real-world applications and problem solving. Students investigate heat and temperature and their relationship to energy and analyze data by doing lab investigations and hands on activities in the classroom Biology is a laboratory science that necessitates students receiving laboratory instruction and participating in relevant hands-on activities. Safety is of great importance in biology classrooms. Science teachers are responsible for ensuring that equipment and facilities are maintained in a safe and functional condition. The biology class had a 93% pass rate on students passing the STAAR test in 24. The AP Biology class has seen growth, 23-24 grew to 36 students, 24 AP testers and 50% earned a 3+ and 24-25 there are 51 students and 50 AP testers planned for May. Dissection is important in AP Biology. A safe and effective learning environment, is essential and appropriate protective equipment and high-quality dissection tools, and proper ventilation in the laboratory. Upgrading the equipment and ventilation systems in the classrooms to contain odors with minimal school impact. High School Chemistry provides a class that blends both science and mathematics classes. Chemistry can lead to careers in pharmaceuticals, chemical engineering, research scientists, laboratory technicians and research. Chemistry helps us to understand the world around us and the building blocks of how things work. The projected growth for this class for the 25-26 school year will be 20 students and they will all be encouraged to take the AP Exam in May of 2026, this year their are 9 students. At this time we are asking for support to upgrade the Science facilities. The amount of $250,000.00 would benefit the district for years to come. The current labs have not had any improvements since they were built in 1993 and any amount received would be beneficial to the district to help us to start this process.
